MAYWE 2020-2021 Season Suspended until Fall 2021

Due to continued concerns related to rising COVID-19 data as it pertains to student safety, the Metropolitan Atlanta Youth Wind Ensemble 1 & 2 have officially suspended all rehearsal and concert plans for the 2020-2021 season. All audition and tuition fees submitted for this season will be refunded by January 15, 2021 in the same manner in which they were received (e.g., check, credit card).

We look forward to the opportunity to resume our music making together next year! Auditions for the 2021-22 season will be advertised in May of 2021.

MAYWE Begins in January!

We are pleased to announce that we have accepted outstanding members for the 17th season of the Metropolitan Atlanta Youth Wind Ensemble (MAYWE).

MAYWE’s mission is to provide quality enrichment as an honor ensemble. The current COVID environment leaves us with certain vacancies which need to be filled in order to ensure all have a fulfilling season. Therefore, we are delaying our season launch to January 2021.

Auditions for open chairs will be accepted from December 1 to December 13, 2020. At which point, all members will be sent a link to submit their commitment fee and receive a link for access to the concert literature.

Rehearsals for the January concert cycle will begin on January 11, 2021 at Johnson Ferry Baptist Church. Tuition for the season will be reduced to $200, with a commitment fee of $100 due December 15, 2020 and the balance due at the first rehearsal on January 11, 2021.

We look forward to a great season making music together!

MAYWE Returns for Physically-distant 2020 Season

MAYWE and MAYWE 2 (middle School) are proud to announce the new season launch for 2020. The season is created and designed to provide band students a safe community to come together in a physically and socially safe environment to make music with peers from band programs across Atlanta. Auditions are currently open for students to submit a video recording for audition. Auditions are currently being accepted until October 7th. See the “Auditions” page for more information.
